Recent films I've seen

Postby Iorek » Mon Sep 03, 2007 7:23 pm

Recent DVD's rented/seen include: Donnie Darko, The Corporation, Control Room, Outfoxed.

Just wanted to see who else has seen any of these and if so what they think of them.

Never seen or heard any of them, except Donnie Darko which I have yet to actually watch...

I've recently watched V For Vendetta, Jason X, Mission Impossible III, Ghostrider, The Covenant and FFVII: Advent Children, all in the same night...

I recent saw a historcial film about the battle of Thermopylae. It depicted the struggle of 300 sparta warriors fighting against the army of the Persian Empire.

I learned many interesting things from this film, like the fact that Spartan warriors wore no armor, but red tong like cloths. Also the fact that the king of Persian was 9ft tall and spoke perfect english. Other then that it was kind of boring since it showed pretty much none of the battle.
<WarV> You know what this place needs?
<Strayed> hookers?
<@Jeramyu> boobs?
<WarV> How about hookers WITH boobs!
<Strayed> I don't like fat guys.

I like fighting in the shade. Just like the Spartans!

Donnie Darko is my favorite movie. Its just that good.

V For Vengeance

Did you meen V for Vendetta? That was also a very good movie.

Donnie Darko is one of the few films I would happily watch twice in a row.
V for Vendetta is good too but Natalie Portman was a bit unnecessary.
One of my favorite films of late is Casino Royale, and I'm not really a Bond fan. Daniel Craig is unstoppable!

Did it bother you that the entire city-state of Sparta spoke english too?

It would have made for a far better action film graphic novel adaptation if the Persians and Spartans were speaking in their original dialects with Richard Attenborough providing voiceover narration. Also, if there had been some sort of musical number at the end.

For Fathers Day I bought my dad one of those 3 dvd's in 1 things.

I think Donnie Darko, Fight Club, and 300 would be the best combo ever.

Whoops...

I'm looking forward to seeing AvP 2:Survival of the Fittest, Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil 3. I was looking forward to seeing Freddy Vs Jason 2, but I'm not sure if they're going to make it now. It's appearing as a comic book but it has Ash and not Mike Myers in it, and that's just lame.

Probably the best three films to be stuck on a desert island with, providing the island had a widescreen TV, DVD player and its own electricity source.

Doing the can-can as the Persians come and attack, mowing them down with fierce kicks!

And of course, what little the spartan uniform there is to wear would then become bedazzled.

Actually, I'd like to see them all do the Time Warp (again).

seen 300, V for Vendetta, Serenity, Ghostrider, potterhead, Casino Royale. Not going to see the ones in the theater right now, none of them seem real exciting.

V for Vendetta and 300 was amazing. It's not Gladiator but still great.
