Not seeing it? Look harder!

That's right! Not a confused German fisherman, but (German) actor Klaus Kinski as Lope de Aguirre, a Spanish soldier exploring the Orinoco river in South America to find El Dorado, the city of gold!

And look what's on the wikipedia article itself!

Well, there you have it. I think the evidence speaks for itself.

I miss confused fisherman Verb. I respect Furby Verb however.

kudos, Jera.

I'm pretty sure I told Wellsy where it was from at some point, which is how the confused fisherman became German in the first place. but I'd wager that was all he remembered from the conversation.

klaus kinski is just awesome. if you don't believe me, check out this behind-the-scenes video (from a different movie) of him verbally flogging a crew member and scaring the natives because he didn't like the food:

and then there's Kinski as Jesus:

Whoops, I forgot to post a link to the actual movie article.

Aguirre, the Wrath of God.

The reason I found about about this is that our campus newspaper had a retroview of it, and I happened to see the movie poster they showed along side of it. It's a christmas miracle.

Of course I remember the conversation, Verb. Your avatar was so small at the time, though, that it looked like Klaus was holding a fish instead of a complacent monkey. And his helmet looked like one of those strappy medieval hats. His nationality I invented out of wholecloth.

I can't believe I'm actually reviving this... but I remember who this guy reminds me. That William Dafoe guy, the Green Goblin from the first Spiderman movie... and apparently he was born in Appleton, Wis.. Doesn't Porter come from there? See the connection?

Verb and Porter are in cahoots!
