You mean a documentary filmmaker would actually stage scenes to get their agenda across???

I'm utterly shocked.

It's not that. It their agenda. The woman who made it said that murder and suicide were good ways of dealing with disability.

Weren't you the one claiming violence is always the solution?

But this is an official of a group dedicated to helping people with Autism. I'm just wondering how the fuck they got in if this is what their views are.

I could be a massive pedantic nerd and point out how murder doesn't neccessarily mean violence, but I'm too lazy right now.

I do agree with you that murder and suicide are terrible ways of dealing with disability (almost the same things as eugenics, really). However ...

Sorry, what? I really can't come up with a nonviolent way of taking someone else's life.

Well, I wouldn't call poisoning someone violent. Horrible, yes, but not violent. As opposed to bludgeoning someone to death with a cricket bat, which, of course, is. I dunno.

well the definition of violence suggests an exertion of physical force or at least destruction or aggression, so violence and killing are separate.

Hmmm, not sure about this either. I think that most poisonings are quite excruciating to the victim. I suppose the point I'm trying to make is that violence doesn't just mean blasting someone with a shotgun or bashing them with a stick. It seems to me that anytime you take someone else's life against their will (murder, as per the orginal point), that's a sort of violence. Whether it's justified violence, that's a separate discussion. I don't want to belabor the argument that much, just a passing thought of mine.

Only morons don't do that, I despise my own country for following the example of the west and deciding to deal no more death sentences.

This is one area where all should look up to the USA.

The only problem I have with the death penalty is, what if they get the wrong person, or what if somebody get's framed? Sometimes I can't help but feel Britain needs the death penalty again. There was like this guy who was a fifth time reoffending paedophile and he didn't even get a life sentence. And now a life sentence isn't even an actual life sentence anymore, it's more like 10-15 years. Disgraceful.
