Music wise, I have recently bought Welcome to the Morbid Reich by Vader, which is shaping up to be very tasty. I also have pre-ordered Heritage by Opeth. Don't really appreciate the lyrical content for the Vader album or the one song I have heard off of the Opeth album so far, but other than that, nice and heavy.

I have also gotten into rapper Mos Def for some reason. His song, Oh No featuring Nate Dogg and Pharaohe Monch summarises everything about Hip Hop I actually like musically and lyrically.

Listened to Heritage today. Was a challenging album to listen to and I don't really dig it. I do appreciate the experimentation though. It's better than a band churning out the same album over and over again. I might give it a few more listens. It might be one of those albums that you need to warm up to. It's not that the lack of death metal put me off, I loved Damnation, but this album just sounds... Irregular.
oh yeah by the way. Doovy & Co. are not gone. After all... I am Doovy and Forunner is still here.

I've also gotten Dualism by Textures, and A Dramatic Turn of Events by Dream Theater. I've also pre-ordered Unto the Locust by Machine Head. Some good shit.

I discovered another Swedish Melodic Death Metal band called Cipher System recently. Their new album, Communicate the Storms, is a blinder.

I've also gotten the new Machine Head album now, which is also excellent. I also, again, recommend Dualism by Textures, and Heritage by Opeth.

I got obsessed with Super Robot Wars OG and its music just last year. ...Decided to buy the soundtracks and now I can't stop listening to them. XD I swear, SRW has the best video game music in the world. All the 100+ pilots have their own personal bgm themes (each more badass than the last), and that isn't even counting the opening themes, map themes and credit themes, etc.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKMN1GlREOk
Destinies, the title theme to Super Robot Wars D. Remastered for 2nd Super Robot Wars OG, and one of my favorite themes on the album.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyfcjATNh-0
Joshua's "finisher theme", Drumfire. Plays when Geant Chevalier's strongest attack is used.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYJSHQR99rc
"Gunshin ga Wazawai o Yobu", "God of War Calls Calamity". One of the event (or map?) themes.

Seeing this (Mekibos defeating Euzeth) makes me pissed that the franchise never came to the west. The games are so awesome! D: Not to mention there's also this, the manliest mecha pilot in the history of gaming (when you hear his bgm... "you're already dead" applies).

"Waga Zankantou ni, tatenu mono nashi!"
*points at her avatar* In case you're curious, this guy is Tetsuya Onodera from Super Robot Wars OG. He's the vice-captain of Space Noah class battleship Hagane and my favorite character in the games (alongside Gilliam Yeager).

Havn't listened to Machine Heads latest, so I'm curious as to how their sound is going.

In Flames is letting me down. They were gradually getting better and better and then bam; Soundtrack to your Escape, it was amazing. But it seems like they've been moving in a direction I don't really like since then.

And I'm surprised CJ hasn't mentioned it already, but Ne Obliviscaris released 'Portal of I' a while ago. I'm not really a fan of prog-metal or extreme-metal, but I loved it regardless.
