Should Lun stick to the original set of 9 waves?

Less waves or not?

Fwacho has hinted that Lun may be considering doing less beta testing waves than he originally proposed. What are your thoughts on this?

Of course, Lun should thoroughly test the game. But from what I've seen myself as a beta-tester, I don't think he'll need to go the full nine waves to bug-proof everything. Then again, I'm only one guy, and the more eyes you have looking at something the better. It's Lun's call, but if he thinks he'll be all right with fewer waves, I'd have to agree with him.

Same here. I was in Episode 2 and found only a few bugs dealing with walking through walls and getting lost forever. And some spelling errors, but they weren't bad. Maybe 2 more waves after the one he's currently on.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I was in the 4th wave, and there's just not the kind of major errors there that need to be worked out in 4 or 5 more waves. They were probably all worked out in wave 1, and if that's the case, then Lun is truly a coding genius.

I'd be quite glad when I can play.

It should be tested properly, but if they stop finding errors then they might aswell release it.

Right. If they still keep finding errors then keep going with the testing. If you stop finding errors though, go ahead and release it.

Meh, if the game is fit for release before all the waves are complete, then I see no reason to delay. On the other hand, I would rather wait a while and have a complete game than have Lun release it now and have it be buggy.

Oh trust me...I went 4 minutes without a bug before I found a problem...Yup, by the time I'm done with this here beta, yall's gonna have yourself one hellova game......yeeehaaw

Note: this post implies that I have a horrible tendency to suffer from/ find glitches and bugs, and I remind you all that Lun is a freaking artist the way he's made this series.

Yes, we shall make well our time, for every zig. Or something like that, it's been awhile since I've seen anything Zero Wing related.

Anyways, back on topic... I'm agreeing with pretty much everybody here. If no more MAJOR bugs are found, the waves should be cut short. But if there are a couple pretty big ones, that can alter the flow of the game dramatically, then they should continue until there are no more major screwups with the coding. Minor ones are OK... that's what us and the Bug forum are for! ^_^;;
