How many rounds?

Postby Cerem » Fri Sep 23, 2005 4:17 pm

How many rounds did you last in your plunge against Strata?
I myself got in 9 before he hit me witha critical 4 ><
I was about to die anyways, though.

One more round then was needed to not be humiliated, however much that was.

The first time I played Episode 5, I got Strata's hp down to orange. This made me think he was beatable so I restarted the game. Then it took me several tries to last even six rounds. I have still never done as good as my first time. Someone said they even got his hp below zero once, but I can't remember who.

That may have been me. With extremely good luck, I got him down into the red after four plunges, then got a nice critical that should have killed him. All I got was a debug message though; he didn't die.

I think that getting Strata down to zero wasn't actually that difficult in the earlier beta versions, but I didn't experience that for myself.

i actually tried to find out if i could beat strata by increasing my plunging skills but its just not possible. I think i got like 2 Step 4 injuries but he wouldn't die. Lun probably wanted him to be invincible at that point.

I think I only lasted 7 turns on my best run...The randomizer just did not like me. He kept getting critical drop slash when I used cross sweep. At least I managed to get him into the orange.

I've gotten him into red zones after about 11 passes, but only because I kept getting the advantage with the plunge triange.

I kinda... cheated to see if he WAS beatable.
I hti him for over 900 damage and he had his threshold, hp, and plunge in the red. Got like 10 level 4 crits.

Why even make it a player controlled fight if you can't win?

*calls the blatant BS*

There is no debug message if you defeat Strata. I should know, I had the mother of all plunges with him in the tournament. I lasted I think 9 rounds, nailing him with several Injury 3s before finally nailing him with an Injury 4 on the exact round he prophecized my demise. The only thing that happens is his HP stays in the red, and it continues until you inevitably fall. Since there is no code for a victory, it will continue until that happens, negative HP and all.

I didn't like that plunge. I got almost every single item (I missed the 2 you get from that minigame where you burn the BlueScarves in ep2) and yet it was still mostly luck that I managed to survive until I was defeated honourably.

All I know is what I saw. I got a message that said something about "hero hit points" and some other junk. You can refuse to believe it, but it's true.

Could this be because you were playing with an earlier version?

Yeah, that might be it. It was definitely not the current version that I was playing.
