I would just suggest, because I haven't put Audacity on my computer yet, that you try Audacity. It's a sound-editor and you can import Midis. So import, save or something, then export project as Mp3. In theory, it would work.

Audacity can import MIDIs? I don't remember that specifically, but you might be right. I use it to convert wav to MP3, although there might be a better way.

Audacity wont let me open midis OR convert to mp3. I must have the dirt-cheap version or something from three years ago.

Hi, looking for the radio version of freedom

Postby Kanifer » Wed Aug 09, 2006 12:03 pm

I can't seen to find a radio version of Freedom by DJ bobo, which is also the start up theme for The Way. If someone would kindly email it to me, I'd greatly appreciate it. A link that works would also do.

Thanks in advance...

Pretty sure that was the version you were looking for.

Hmm

Well, actually no... Lun's Version sounds better, right from the start around the 30 second mark. It's slightly different. Maybe it was Lun's edit, but I'm not sure. I heard that the version closest to Lun's was specifically called (Radio Version). Was yours called radio version?

It doesn't matter, since I recorded Lun's version with Windows Movie Maker and made in WMA and am now able to listen to it on my MP3 player (along with 10 other melodies from the way, haha, yeah I know, I'm a hardcore fan).

you....listen to the Midis? That's not hardcore, that's just creepy.

Also, it's a midi. Lun has his own songs he made for the Way, so whats to stop him from editing a midi? Noteworthy Composer is an example of a midi editor, one that I've dabbled with.

And you're welcome.

Anyone know where "The Fight" comes from? That is, the midi where Rhue faces off with Kavax the 2nd time for the title of Pharaphalyn.

Seems familiar somehow, but maybe I'm imagining things since the music was so suitable.

How's that creepy? I listen to the MIDIs too (for The Way and other games); they're good background music, no lyrics as many songs have.

So of The Way's 114+ music files, we still don't know the sources for these 28:
  • A-BFE
  • AGovernment
  • AProblem
  • AVashtisDance
  • BCastle (The Iron Chef?)
  • B-EasyWaiting
  • B-eclipse[1](Repetitive)
  • BThePlayBattle
  • BVenturingdeeper
  • C+littletown
  • Crickets3 (generic crickets?)
  • dieselidle[1] (generic idling diesel engine?)
  • E6Arena_Bennet
  • E6Arena_Hero3
  • E6Arena_Kygar
  • Lfire4sec (generic fire?)
  • love actually maybe
  • magical mystical
  • Rain2 (generic rain?)
  • RainLight (generic rain?)
  • SweetDreams
  • TheFight
  • Tower
  • WaterCave
  • WayAlanGag (original by Lun?)
  • WayLookSeeDie (original by Lun?)
  • WayValParaCafe (original by Lun?)
  • WindSoft (generic wind?)

Of the 28, 6 are probably generic sound effects, leaving 22 to track down (3 of which may be by Lun, which would leave 19).
I've used this name on boards for a while before I learned about the artist and Crestfallen Studios site designer Rangi.
Rhue: People aren't perfect!
Phantom: People are selfish.
Rhue: They can change...
Phantom: You know they can't.
Rhue: Some try!
Phantom: All fail.
Rhue: ... ...I don't care. I just want someone who won't stop trying. And I won't stop either...

love actually maybe

The only thing I can think of is that it's from the soundtrack of the movie "Love actually". I listened to some samples, and it sounds most similar to "Eva Cassidy - Songbird", but there are still a few discrepancies; not going to say it's the one for sure.
SweetDreams

Just did a quick search. It's "Sweet Dreams" by Marylin Manson.

P.S. Don't be dissin' MIDI, yo. That's all we had back in the old days. There was .wav too, but try distributing those when all you had were floppy disks and dial-up internet. My brother and I have been huge .mid fanatics since the early days. He's even made and sequenced a few himself. vgmusic.com 4 lyfe.

Hate to nitpick, but "Sweet Dreams" was originally done by Annie Lennox and the Eurythmics. Marilyn Manson just covered it.

Big ups to MIDI by the way.
