I have that MIDI somewhere...

all right, I'm going to come clean. I'm responsible for two of the songs you guys are so keen on identifying. the musical instrument digital interface atrocities known as "magical mystical" and "love actually maybe" were committed by me.

"magical mystical" never had any connection to The Way, and to this day I've never asked Lun why it ended up in whichever beta version it did. this was among the first midis I ever made, and I must have sent it to him to say "look, I made something!", much as a child proudly gives their mom a big orange blotchy drawing and tells them it's a tiger. maybe putting it in the game folder was equivalent to putting it up on the refrigerator. let's be honest, it sucks, and it amuses me to no end that you guys are so hot to figure out its origin when it wasn't actually used within the game, or at least not in any version I ever played.

I don't know where all this eva cassidy songbird nonsense comes from, but "love actually maybe" was an aborted attempt at composing an original tune for episode 6. it was supposed to be a love theme, hence the title, and it had some potential. unfortunately, I have the same tendencies in midi-composing that most amateur game-makers have in game-making: I promise much and deliver little. so I was no match for Lun, although he did his best to encourage me.

Sincerely,
The Verb

P.S. good job to the guy who found the "Corvette? HAHAHAHA" tag, but you missed the one about chewbacca's grandma.

Its in the final release of Episode 6, and it was actually used on a map, but the map itself wasn't ever used.

is the map anything of note?

Well, Lun bothered to make a panorama for it, but other than that its completly empty. Its called Hara1 and its like the last map on the list.

Fun fact: Even though VG Music calls B+UrgentAction "Dollet", I'm now being told that this song appears nowhere in FFVIII. It was, in fact, the music from The Landing scene in the demo. Apparently it was removed due to eerie similarities to a movie theme. Good thing we finally got it in a game with The Way, because it's damn epic. >_>

I wanted to convert "Urgent Action" into a Impulse Tracker module for my game but I have a lack of samples :(
Do you know some good sites with musical instruments samples?

EDIT:
Maybe you can post: "Impulse Tracker in RPG Maker?" Yea, that is possible, if you're using RPG Maker 2003 with Powermode (I think that someone know what is that ;) )

I really, REALLY hate that I recognized the song, but E6Arena_Bennet is Rollin' by Limp Bizkit.

Aha, I knew A-BFE sounded like J-Pop, but I thought it was something I'd heard before. I used that Music Robot site, turns out that it's "Body Feels Exit", by Namie Amuro. I don't think that's going to work for the other unknown songs, though, since Lun seems to have named those.

E6Arena_Hero4 - "House of the Rising Sun" << this sounds familiar to me. Its similar to one song by "Kult" - Polish punk-rock band, but I don't know the title... (I'm definetly not their fan).

House of the Rising Sun is by a band called The Animals. There was a cover of it by Frijid Pink.

Chopin = Awesome

Am I the only one who knew where House of the Rising Sun comes from? Sheesh, you guys need to read up on some basic music history.

Someone in chat actually suggested Lun use House of the Rising Sun for something, and it ended up being the badass 5 place. I know War originally brought the song to my attention, and I certainly know where it's from.

I couldn't remember where it was used in the game or what is was called. Thanks for reminding me, but this is just raises one question, why is E6Arena_Hero4 called House of the Rising Sun? Unless of course it isn't, in which case, raises another question, who the hell thought it was House of the Rising Sun? I'm confused.
