The backdrops.. interesting find.

While I was adding my Black Hawk Down complete mod. conversion for CS1.6 I took a look into the enviorments folder, found a bitmap image that looked similar to one The Way uses. They look awfully similar! Espicially in the opening to Episode 1 where it pans down to Rhue on a boulder overlooking the backdrop.

It was probably made with Bryce 3D, which has a relatively limited selection of textures to choose from. I could probably replicate some of the simpler panoramas from The Way with little difficulty. Same textures and everything.

I just ment the image, you could have hosted it on imageshack or somthing, but it doesnt really matter now.
