This topic is very good. Sorya is another character...

Sorya is only dead if you suck.

Heh, she got killed in my game. It was just too tempting to tell her to get Rhue a drink...

Indeed, I know that's what I'd do in real life.

How do you know she gets killed? Mine just said 'Bye Sorya' and the screen went black...

When Rhue thinks "I should kill her", if you have a good relationship with her he says "No."
And there's a switch called "Sorya's fate" who gets on only if you have a poor rel.

Wait...if she stays alive, he answers "no" while still in the room with her?
Dang...I must have screwed Sorya over.

EDIT: Oh yeah, is it just me, or is Rhue going just a wee bit insane?

Yeah, not to mention those hundred blood lyn he killed.

Plus Strata, yes, had been running from Lyrra for awhile, in addition to having just finished a plunge with Cetsa and being emotionally screwed up since his girl was dead.

There are definite reasons why Rhue should have a much better chance against Strata the second time around. However, I thought he was too easy at the end, frankly.

Ditto. Taking him down with a level 4 hit of 84 damage, on the first pass, without cheating, was kinda unsatisfactory.

Not insane, just hell-bent on finding Serena.

I've done over 200 damage to him before, and thats usually how all my battles agenst him end, its just not always me doing the 200 damage.

The highest damage I've done to him is about 130 damage, on the first pass of course.
The first time I met him I only did 74 damage. :|

I think it's the mechanic itself of the plunge that is unbalancing a bit.

This is something I've mentioned before. As the game progresses, it gets easier and easier to do level 4 injuries. Already by the end of episode 4, if Rhue is pumped close to maximally, there are no more interesting plunges. (You won't necessarily beat Strata with a level 4 every time, but the odds are very good that one of the combatants will score a level 4 injury.)
