Quake 2

Postby Teenr0cker » Wed Mar 16, 2005 8:20 pm

Yeah, so for those who don't know (ie: non-Mirc usuals), I finally got a laptop of my own. After recieving this hand-me-down laptop of 27 gigs and 256 megs and transfering all of my sister's old files, via Ethernet cable, to her new one, it is mine! After I freed it from the oppressive bonds of 950 some-odd items Ad-aware found, and the pointlessness of The Sims, I took it over to my friend's house and he was kind enough to give me a special Quake 2 that doesn't require the CD, so lets have a show of messages on who has or hasn't played this classic game before.

IMO: This game is great, albeit old. I was going through the code (I'm learning c++ and stuff) and I found the script that states that if you're not recognised by the enemy before you shoot them (they usually yell or shoot or rape you with their tentacle-like things they have as a sign of being alerted of your threat), the damage is 1.5 . I know it's not much, but still. That is pretty cool for an old game like that.

I'm not sure when it was released, but judging from the blood cubes I see, it doesn't look too modern.

I think it was released sometime in the 90s. The graphics arent the greates, but its pretty good, considering when it was made. The same is with Civilization and Alpha Centauri! THE GOD OF CIVILIZATION SPINOFFS!

It was a great time for me to be able to grow up in the 90s. The 90s were awesome! and then the 00s came, and made the 90s suck.
