To me it seemed that the final fantasies without Roman Numerals were all pretty boring.

What about FFT?

It's US/PAL and the Japanese numbers. They're different. Allow me to graphic-ize.

Japan | US/PAL
-------------------------------
FF1 (NES) | FF1 (NES)
FF2 (NES) | Not released
FF3 (NES) | Not released
FF4 (SNES) = FF2 (SNES)
FF5 (SNES) | Not released
FF6 (SNES) = FF3 (SNES)

Of course, they dumped the number switching thingy for FF7, and susequently released FF: Origins to rectify this.

I'ma take a shot at this.

Released:
FF1
FF2
FF3
FF4
FF5
FF6
FF7
FF8
FF9
FF10
FF10-2
FF11
FF Mystic Quest
FF Crystal Chronicals
FF Tactics
FF Tactics Advanced
FF Anthology
FF Origins
FF Chronicals
FF 1&2 Dawn of random encounters. I mean souls.

Not Released, but announced:

FF7: Dirge of Cerberus
FF7: Before Crisis
FF12
FF13
FF7 Snowboarding (yeah. wtf?)
FF3 DS (That's the NES 3, unfortunately)
FF1 i-mode
FF2 i-mode

Movies:
FF: The Spirits Within

Upcoming Movies:
FF: Advent Children
Assorted Final Fantasy Works
FF: Crisis Core

Not actually Final Fantasy games:

FF Legend 1
FF Legend 2
FF Legend 3
(These last three are actually part of Square's SaGa series)

FF Adventure
(Part of the Mana series)

Those are all of them to my knowledge. I think I might be missing at least one, but I'm not sure.

Flawless reasoning.

Personally, I think most of the games are pretty fine, I mean FF7 was revolutionary in terms of scope/magnitude/aesthetics for the time it was released, but that's pretty much the only aspect that it actually worthy of all the praise it gets. Otherwise it was pretty standard elsewhere, and certainly over-rated in some areas.

What do you mean it was overrated? it had the best story out of all of them.

EDIT: Would'nt Kingdom hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Chain Of Memories be considered Final Fantasy? It had FF Characters in it.

You could say that (I prefer FF3/6), but the translation and localization was awful. I had trouble understanding what they hell people were talking about my first time through. It seemed like they were just dictating into thin air sometimes.

FFVI/FF3? which did you play the ROM or the playstation version
because I've noticed that the translation is a lot better in the playstation version. Or am I thinking of FFV?

Really? Over here FF:Anthology was FFIV and FFV. FFVI was sold seperately.
