diablo 2 cheat help (LOL)

okay this isnt exactly a cheat, its where you can increase the difficulty of single player. i searched google and some sites say type in player 8 and otheres say /player 8. But i dont get where to type it. it says as u come in, type in that. but i dont get where to type it. someone help?

Whenever you are playing just hit enter /players (1-8 ) then the dificulty goes up.

not /player 8 or player 8?
and when i type /players 8, it shows that i said /players 8 in the chat box. shouldnt it not say in the chat box if the cheat was effected?

It should say "players set to 8".
And its just /players 8.
