http://narcissu.insani.org/

just dont spoil it by reading the other sections...go straigh to download ok

the ending will probably make you cry unless you are some cold hearted dumbass :x

the music and voices are really good too even if the game is a little short anyways enjoy!

Baka had this in his signature for years now, but yeah, its a good story, I didn't really had any problems relating to the characters as their sickness wasn't truly physical in nature but one of the mind.
they had time, and they could not use it, when they finally started to put it to use, it was there no longer.

That said, most visual novels are horrific and are just bad porn in disguise.

It is a great story. I prefer Kana to it, though.

I'm not even freaking sure why I remember that one so well....

Almost a whole year without any posts, newbie... you make yourself more and more scarce.

Yup. I really do need to change it, but the fact remains: I'm just too damn lazy. XD

Apparently, the author decided to make a prequel to Narcissu, according to the main site for stage-nana. I'm all for developing backstory, but there are times when I feel that a prequel might be too much...The approximate release should be around now. I wonder how well it will pull of with all the waiting...

That aside, mainstream visual novels are usually filled with the porn. And Key's works are terribly overhyped.

Most of the time, I go for the doujin visual novels that are usually translated by either Haeleth or insani. Admittedly, they're not the most shocking of stories, but some of them are a good, relaxing read every now and then.

Edit: ...Oh hey. Newbie's typing is getting a little better. XD Then again, those who went to Chip's forum should know what she's freakin' capable off...>>;;

Well, I am extremely thankful for your laziness.

Personally I think that if any work should be linked to Narcissu, it should be a sequel, returning back in time goes completely against everything the story represents, you can only wander forward, even if its the way to death.

Well, whether we like or not, the sequel is finally released.

Haeleth is hasn't finished translation yet, though. So I do not understand a thing...>>;;

I do like the music, though. I've already ripped the files from the arc.nsa file...Though they remain nameless with me being unable to decipher their titles...^^;;

Holy crap, I didn't notice that newbie created the topic until after everyone else started saying it. It was so hard to tell. What the hell happened? She's so boring without her, uh, awesome literary technique.

Holy shit. Thewaynewbie and Otaku posting for the first time in years in the same thread? My mind is fucking blown.
"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat." (Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio)

Oh, come on. I still visit the IRC channel every now and then, don't I? Besides, years is an exaggeration. I've only been gone for about one. =P

Oh, yes...he did hate it...didn't he...? XD;;

Okay, okay. An attempt to get back on topic, here's another doujin visual novel I'm fond of...that isn't an eroge with over-the-top H Scenes like most people associate them with. OMG!!11! *cue teh audience gasp* >>;;

Red Shift

Not as huge or filled with depth as Narcissu, but it's a good for a single, straight-through read.
