...It's only a multi player game, right? What if some weapons are too strong and other too weak? The company that made the game is gone. They can't patch it.

FASA Interactive is still around as a part of Microsoft, but the original FASA is gone. Although that is an entirely moot point, because FASA Interactive developed the game.

As for the game itself, Shadowrun is extremely well balanced. No weapon is overpowered, even sniper rifles and rocket launchers have their weaknesses. The only mistake that the creators made was designing the elves to be so desirable to solo players.
