Banana Phone and 8 Bit Theatre amused me more than a lot of games...

Any RPG with battling of "tap A/X" or worse, I consider to be an interactive movie.

So tapping A/X and moving the arrow keys is any better. Xenogears has a superior fighting system to Secret of Mana. It has more options and a better setup. If you're gonna play a game like Terranigma or SoM might as well just go and play their better version, D2. 8)

I voted FFVII, but that's only because Xenosaga wasn't among the options.

And I defenitely don't mind playing a game that has a cutscene to gameplay ratio of 2:1. As a matter of fact, those are usually my favorite RPGs.

What annoyed me about the cutscenes in Xenosaga (aside from the fact that their graphics were generally well behind the state of the art, but that's a minor point) was the odd way they were interspersed within the gameplay. Especially early in the game, play was constantly interrupted for cutscenes, almost seemingly at random. Sometimes there was nothing to do in between two scenes except walk a short distance from point A to point B.

Damn, it's so damn hard... it's either Final Fantasy VII Breath of Fire III or Chrono Trigger... but god damn. Chrono Triggers so good, and Final Fantasy VII is okay but you can play it about 50 times and not care and BoF III is well... damn well Cool.... but it has to be... CT.

It looks like most of the poll choices are of the inferior "japanese" type. I would vote for Nethack, given the choice. And besides, I have only played a few of the games on this list, so I'll go with CT.

And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat." (Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio)

Well, I only played FF7 and Chrono Trigger, so my opinion is completly biased. Although, if you HAD included an "other" option, I would have picked .hack.
