Beyond Good & Evil

Postby Fredric » Tue Sep 14, 2004 1:10 pm

I have only played this game for Xbox, but I think it deserves more praise than the title in this comment. It is Beyond Beyond Good, and is one of the best games the world has seen to date, if not THE BEST. I loved every second of the game, and brathed pure glee during the boss battles. those gamers who have not bought it has yet to live, in my opinion. text stolen from teppic

Is it like Pokemon Snap and James Bond merged into one?

No, its not. The only shooting weapon is the Gyro Disc Glove, and you dont catch any mosters. you take pics of them to sell for money instead.

My little brother liked Pokemon as a TV show, and I saw enough of the cartoon to get an idea of how much more sophisticated it might have been. Some of the very first episodes have a rather different feel, and at one point, they even start discussing the mathematical mechanics of Pokemon powers and combats. Naturally, that never went anywhere (meeting the same fate as differening damages for different risk attacks :)). It could have a sort of CRPG TV show (albiet still for rather younger kids), but instead, the complexities of combat quicky devolve into Ash just yelling, "Pikachu, use your agility!" all the time.

The photographing in BG&E is almost nothing like Pokemon Snap. Besides, photographing animals is almost completely optional. The game is more like Zelda but in a modern world.

You can always try the demo to see what the game is like.

Could've sworn one or two of the rewards were pearls for a roll of film... :D

Pokemon games are good. The TV show had the potential to be good, and still does, but they mess it up time and time again. The plot, at least 80% of the time (probably more) is worthless, and even more often, the battling is as well. There's just no point.

I really do like the 2nd, 4th and 5th movies, though. They were good.
