and please note that the exe is the full game, while the .zip is a patch containing fixes and recommendations given by a few of my current testers (thank you Glenn and Jeramyu). You should unzip and extract the contents into the game folder.

It's nice to see more interested parties, hopefully enough of you will like it to merit me making another ^_^

As a side note, I've known the server to not work for everyone, seemingly depending on their machines. If it's up, it should let you in, but hopefully one day I'll get more reliable space.

well. the game is working fine once I got the RTP thing placed in the file. I've got some text issues with boxes in the words. My brother is getting impatient since we share a comp. I'll give you the details later.

Yes, the squares in the text issue has come to my attention, and I've found the cause in one instance... I should like to know where (I would guess in the intro) these occur specifically.

Yeah, the intro has some wierd text: " O ln moderated doses, of [][][] course"

There were some other things: "Ahhhh! Help! Somebody, [][][][] anybody!" - Kid in danger in beginning

"[] now it's like this"- history man

"fiery hope against the [] Empire"- Grandpa in Mem. asylum

"scour the world for other patrons and [][][]"- fairy harmonica lady

There were some glitches and errors, too. After a Battle, it says "found (number here)G gold!" (number here)= not true quote, just random #

In the Mem Asylum, I saw the Yve sprite in the upper right corner appear and dissappear, and Hero dude (forgot name already! I blame ADD. And Inderos...>_>) was in a bed already... I'm not sure if that was intended.

The Dark Escort misspelled his word:"The meagre resistance..." I'm pretty sure it was the one on the left.

And at the grave, I'm not sure, but you might want to check the face sets of the dialog. Some of it was confusing. I think Yve said "Ive got to go home. Wheres home?" So you may wanna look into that. I haven't had more time to test, but I'll let you know.

Which button is the screen shot key? That would make things easier.


I liked that mushroom though. +5 to health. Yummy!

Wow, thank you! As far as I can tell, RPGMaker inserted some weird formatting characters all throughout my text that aren't readily visible. I did a lot of copying and pasting as I refined message order and stuff, that's probably why.

Yeah, you found a faceset bug, and in the dream sequence, I intend for the disappearance but not the hero being visible in bed, so I'll fix that.

The screenie-taking keys would be ALT+PrntScrn to take just the active window, then it acts like it's on the clipboard, so you can paste the image into any graphics program and save it.

Haha, don't worry, I had ADD at a lot of points while making this game... school has really made my motivations messed up. I just hope it doesn't show TOO much. :P

PS: Meagre is the correct spelling. Of all the errors I make, spelling isn't often one of them ;)

the protagonist has two different faces in the beginning, a different face is used in one of the houses, think it was the one with the mom and the kid.

also a lot of rather annoying graphics, you know edges just now blending in together, and all those squares O_o

and at the opening scene, get more people and try making them move out of the way as the guy leaves. also add some doodads to make the environment more appealing, little things count

In my opinion, which you, as a reader, are entitled to, Many of the little things I noticed were present. Examine the dagger in the town, or the oil can. But I'm in the swamp right now and I see no way out except the enterance. I'll try again and post later. I'll post text issues too.


PS: Adderal works well for ADD. But don't OD. If you do, your hands start to shake from inactivity! Wheee!


EDIT: Ok, Got through the swamp fine...well, semi-fine. When I got to the clean water and I try to re-enter the cave, the screen turns brown and all I could do was exit. And for the mining part, I chose not to go on the cart, got in front of it, and was pushed until asked which direction to go. I had to alt-f4 that one.

Teenr0cker, I'm a little unclear about what you said but - it sounds like you're sticking up for my attention to detail, in which case, yay! And actually, Teppic noted the bugs in the cart ride sequence earlier today, and I'm working on a remedy now. The cave teleport bug is new, so thanks.

So you think I should add more movement and better tilesets, Tele? I know about the formatting issues with square type things in the text, but they don't show up for everyone so if I dont get specific examples, I would have to look forever to know what to fix. What you suggest about sprite interactions is a nice visual plus to any game, I agree, and I may consider making more active environments in a future release, but please keep in mind this is a beta. Things are not finished yet!

I sent this to those testers with whom I've been keeping up with through PMs, but for those who check here, this is important:

Critical Update

There's been a major bug found that would have allowed you to skip over a lot of the game if you don't view a couple flashback dream sequences. It involves a tile (a stump) that shouldn't be passable, but I forgot to make it impassible, meaning you could walk right over it if you so wished and on to a much much later part in the game.

So if you've arrived at that point (when you talk to Erwin in Jute and go unconscious again), please make sure to download the v0.85 patch before going on! Sorry for the inconvenience :p
