So I got the key and recruited Slade ...but what am I to do afterwards?

I don't know where you are in the game since you can get Slade throughout most of the game. If you have done the minimum required to get Slade then this should help.

Once you're back outside, go downward until you reach a staircase, which you should ascend. Go
left into the next room, and after a shore cutscene, the play will begin.
