all right, I'm going to come clean. I'm responsible for two of the songs you guys are so keen on identifying. the musical instrument digital interface atrocities known as "magical mystical" and "love actually maybe" were committed by me.
"magical mystical" never had any connection to The Way, and to this day I've never asked Lun why it ended up in whichever beta version it did. this was among the first midis I ever made, and I must have sent it to him to say "look, I made something!", much as a child proudly gives their mom a big orange blotchy drawing and tells them it's a tiger. maybe putting it in the game folder was equivalent to putting it up on the refrigerator. let's be honest, it sucks, and it amuses me to no end that you guys are so hot to figure out its origin when it wasn't actually used within the game, or at least not in any version I ever played.
I don't know where all this eva cassidy songbird nonsense comes from, but "love actually maybe" was an aborted attempt at composing an original tune for episode 6. it was supposed to be a love theme, hence the title, and it had some potential. unfortunately, I have the same tendencies in midi-composing that most amateur game-makers have in game-making: I promise much and deliver little. so I was no match for Lun, although he did his best to encourage me.
Sincerely,
The Verb
P.S. good job to the guy who found the "Corvette? HAHAHAHA" tag, but you missed the one about chewbacca's grandma.
