Original names?

Postby voodooKobra » Mon Jul 14, 2008 3:48 am

I know that, in the game, one of the long-standing traditions is to add or remove letters from your name.

Jeruh -> Rhue
Sorya -> Rosa
Kava -> Kavax

So, I'm wondering what some of the other character's names were at one point. For example:

Phalax <- Alpha?
Exmus <- Muse?

Not sure about any speculation, but there's the Chasta -> Scatha name change that you didn't mention.
No adding or removing there, just a rearrangement.

Here's the bit of dialog from E6 for anyone who missed it:

SORYA: Relax dear, all I did was
drop the 'Y' from my name and mix
the letters up to form "Rosa".

SORYA: It's quite a common
practice really.

SORYA: Symbolically speaking,
dropping a letter from one's name
represents the release of an old
outlook, attitude, or sin.

SORYA: In the same manner adding
an additional letter would symbolize
a new addition to one's self.

SORYA: Some don't drop any
letters, they just rearrange
the letters. I don't know
what that symbolizes though.

Rhue: That's all very interesting...
So should I address you as Sorya
or Rosa?

SORYA: Isn't it obvious, dear? I
use the name Rosa only for Arena
purposes.

SORYA: It seemed fitting to drop a
letter because I was hiding my outer
appearance in that purple garb.
"Unfortunately, the dragon only speaks in Napalm, a curious ancient language that you don't really need to speak to understand."

So Jeruh to Rhue represented the end of Midian's bloodthirst then I take it? That's the general impression he gives in DE.
From what my barber told me, I now knew that nothing was real.

Not quite. The real Jeruh starts calling himself Rhue after he murders Serena and starts his deluded quest to find her.

Dropping the letter from his name symbolizes leaving behind the sins he committed in the Landorin massacre.

Just for fun I tried scrambling Midians name and got Damian.

EDIT: Nevermind I'm retarded.
