The Way... a planet?

Methinks it's a single mist, but it's so big that it encompasses both beginning and end, and that it's big enough/tocis enough to kill anyone who tries to survive it.

So nobody would bunker up in a house and live to see the other side of the mist.

Well ME thinks there are no rolling mists and Rhue jumps into the upper way and/or a storm in the Lexus ending.

MEthinks the flashy motion lines that everyone seems to think has something to do with the rolling mists are just flashy motion lines like you would see in any good anime or manga. Except that the Way is not an anime or manga. But yeah. I don't think the moving background of the "flying scene" has much to do with anything except creating the illusion of rapid movement.

Er... interesting diagrams Sling. I think I get what you're saying despite the confusing (but kickass) illustrations. Not that I necesarily agree. I'm not convinced the Way takes a circular path (by that I mean one without a beginning or end, whatever form it may take.) I still think that it could just as easily be linear. Please convince me if you can.

Maby they're already going the shorter way.

If that's the case how would Gaius and Rhue reach the 'end of the way'?

In the planet theoy, a new bridge has yet to me made. In the ring theory and "normal" theory and the ring world theory, the rolling mists would get in your way a little farther up.

PS. By normal I mean what all the characters use. Not including the badass 5. They probably use the diffrent theories of this forum.

JLAF, that needs some serious clarification. I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. :?

How come no one disagrees with me anymore? :P Certainly not 'cos everyone agrees with me?

Well, I thought he was asking about why this is an "End of the Way." I know he asked why they met, but seeing "the end of the way" in quotes made me think that's what he didn't know. I was saying why the way would have an end.
The thing about the bassass five was just that I always get stuck on technicalities. Being members of the forum, I asummed they would use one of the theories in the forum, as abosed to the rolling mists. Though I could be very wrong.

We never know if Rhue and Gaius made it to "The End Of The Way". Gaius says the cave used to be the end of the way, but after that there really isnt any indicater of how close they are.

True, the map is always titled "The Beginning". Lun always uses that instead of "The End". Clearly he thinks every ending is just a new begining... which is another reason to thik the way loops in some way....

I've always thought that the words 'The Beginning' had another meaning.
But I can't really form it into any solid theory just now.
A good point there made by Sage, also something else I noticed is that Gaius doesn't mention how long ago the cave was the end - probably as long ago as Kava and Kura.

My theory on the tunnel (which I think I said in the first post) was that the guided just dug that tunnel so that people wouldn't realize the way that the way worked. Tezel used the romors of the PS to slow everyone down until he could finish the tunnel. Clearly he wouldn't want to slow them down with PS romors (as Sacrifa said) unless he was tring to do something at the end. (He wouldn't want them to settle, would he?)
This would al be easyer if Lun would just tell us... or finish his next game in The Way universe. (Wouldn't it be something if The Way took place in the crestfallen universe?)

Red is End of Way Blue is where everyone is. There is no short way round dumb-ass. And because the End of Way moves forward it's actually quite hard to get to. This is also not taking into account the rolling mists if they exist. But anywho wanderers travel in one direction becuase they believe the rolling mists are behind them. If they are there no-one can travel backwards to get to the End of the Way quicker and even if they do not practically everyone believes in the rolling mists being real and those who don;t just go with the flow anyway so you see the chance of someone getting to the End of the Way by travelling a different path and/or direction is lower than the ankle socks of a particularly small beetle, standing in a ditch, in a quarry, in the low-country.
In this day and age, an era where there are people who actually throw shit at each other, anything, could be possible.

So you're saying you can only go straight on the way, not left or right? Because from the look of that ring, it looks like someone could go off the edge, and unless they just fall off, they could go all the way around shorter than going straight, and just figure it out sooner.

Yes, but sling is just as slow on this idea as I was on the origonal ring idea :P (I use that face too much) ANYWAY... (I do that to much too...) If it's wide enough, it really doesn't matter what way people go. Plus, sense sling believes in the rolling mists (FOOL!) those might stop you from taking a short way around.
